It will be my traditional gift for newlyweds.It was delivered as promised and in great condition. I purchased the Reader's Digest Fix-It-Yourself Manual for a gift to give my daughter and new son-in-law. They married the day after Christmas. I had also given one to my niece and nephew for their wedding.
It has a wealth of very useful information. This book came quicker than expected in EXCELLENT condition and I couldn't beat the price. I'm sure it will save me lots of money in the future, doing it myself.
More than half of the book is stuff I didn't need or would never need. Sounded like it was just what I wanted.not so. A very small part of the book had minor plumbing and electrical repairs.I needed a book with simple repairs to things around and in the home for someone who is single and needs to do a lot of stuff themselves.
It has been very helpful and I've saved a lot of money by repairing things myself. I bought a version of this a few years ago. Easy to understand, good illustrations and pictures.I just wish that all books of this type would be spiral bound so they would lie flat when you need to have them stay open, so you can easily refer to directions as you proceed with the repair.Good purchase, paid for itself many times over with the first repair I did.
I have bought this book as a gift for both a first-time homebuyer and an experienced handyman because it is so practical. 11 years later I still use it. There are two books I think that every man should own: the Bible and this book. My parents bought this book for me when I was a newlywed. It gives you the basics you need to take apart and repair just about anything in your home.
